Queenstown NZ.
Snow chaser and the Winter Games NZ.
Don’t miss out on the action on the Snow by getting
on a slow coach. Snow Chaser offer transport, door
to door and on mountain guiding/hosting. We have
comfortable safe 4x4s; we live and play in the
mountain around Queenstown - Ski with the locals.
Contact us for how we can
take the hassle out of getting around and to the
Winter Games venues.
What are the Winter Games NZ?
The main difference between this event and the
Winter Olympics is that
Winter Games NZ will provide elite athletes with the
ultimate testing
ground where they can experiment and explore their
performance limits
against world class competition without the same
fear of failure. Because
here a slight hiccup isn’t necessarily a total
disaster, it’s a character building
exercise. Risk is good.
INNOVATIVE
Winter Games NZ is unique. It is modelled on
Olympic performance
standards but it’s not restricted by traditional
thinking. The athletes are
free to mingle with their fans. For the first time
in the world able bodied
and disabled athletes can compete together in alpine
races. Winter
Games NZ will be held at the same location every 2
years. Otago offers
a spectacular stage where all the facilities are
within a stone’s throw
of each other. By 2011 we are also introducing new
events like Winter
Triathlon and Natural Luge which could become part
of future Olympic
programmes.
FUN!!
Can serious competition and fun go together? Hell
yes. How about
Half Pipe held at night under floodlights with bands
pumping out a wall
of noise. The opening ceremony will be on the
Queenstown waterfront
and the closing ceremony at the amazing Coronet Peak
with a
pyrotechnics extravaganza in the snow. A “party
Zone” will be set up in
Queenstown and Wanaka. And of course there’s never
any shortage of
other outrageous outdoor adventures to be had in
this part of the world.
