Telemark skiing, also known as “free-heeling” is becoming more popular in the ski community. Many alpine skiers turn to telemark skiing to raise their skiing skills and/or provide a new challenge at the ski resort. An accomplished telemarker is a beautiful and awesome sight and now you can get telemark lessons at Coronet Peak in Queenstown. It's the freedom of movement that gets most hooked on telemark skiing.

Lessons.
We all need of a bit of fine tuning at whatever level we’re at - maybe you’re have trouble carving, get very tired legs, have issues on powder days, fall at speed, trouble turning on steep runs or just need a general refresher.  There’s always something to learn and all of these are easy fixes.

Tuesdays Telemark Clinics at Coronet peak

There will be two group telemark lessons times:

-        Learners/intermediate telemark skiers at 10.20am
-        Intermediate/ advanced telemark skiers at 1.50pm 

The Tuesday afternoon lessons will focus something different each week. Some of what we will cover is:- on piste carving, crud and difficult snow condition, steep slope technique- jump turns and generally making tele life easier on you. I will also cover any topic you want to improve in your own telemark performance.

Telemark Tuesday Coronet Peak

It’s always great to have other “free-heelers” to rip some turns with, so following in the tradition of many Northern hemisphere resorts, Coronet Peak is hosting Telemark Tuesday’s. I deal of all abilities we will comb the mountain looking for the best telemark runs. A great way to hang out with telemarkers of all abilities and meet some new people.

Meet 9 am at the Quad chair right in front of the base building with your lift pass.
